NEW CHUBB 110 TOOL
Safe Ventures has collaborated with Dave Kneafsey of E3 locks in the supply of his new pick and form 110 pick decoder. Pick and form is not a new technique it has been used mainly in the past on high security safe locks. Dave has been quick to realise the benefits of this method on higher quality locks.
The tool is well presented as pictured, and made to a decent quality. This is definitely a pickers tool, it is quicker than the pin and cam technique allowing most locks to be opened in around 10 minutes.
I have spent a few hours trying various different methods with the tool and have now settled on the following approach.
Load the tool with all number 8 pins and test the levers, change any that are not in gate to next highest pin. Continue process until 2 or 3 levers are in gate positions. At this point the user can either attempt to pick the remaining levers into position or continue to test and change, I have found that when 3 levers are correct the lock is easily picked. It is as well to remember that if the pin height raises from 8 - 5 the number 9 height will need testing and it is at this point that I do this, there is unlikely to be more than two nine heights in any given lock, and more likely only one.
Lighter tension seems to work best with the option of increasing it incrementally if required.
This tool represents excellent value for money at £220.00 and does what it says on the tin.
All that is required is a few hours practice and this lock is no longer a problem. Full instructions written by Dave are supplied with the tool.
Many thanks Dave for the opportunity to sell this tool. Look forward to offering the Fortress/Strongbolt tool when it is ready.
